The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has extended the last date to apply for jobs in Kendriya Vidyalaya Sangathan (KVS) and Navodaya Vidyalaya Samiti (NVS). The new deadline to submit applications is now December 11, 2025 . Earlier, the last date was December 4, 2025.
This extension helps many students as over 12 lakh applications have already been received. Many applicants also reported technical problems while trying to apply online. There are a total of 14,967 job openings for both teaching and non-teaching roles across KVS and NVS.

Important Exam Dates
The first stage of the selection process, called Tier-1, will involve computer-based tests. These exams are scheduled for January 10 and 11, 2026 . Please note that the NVS MTS exam date might be different.

Age Limit
The minimum age to apply for all posts is 18 years . The maximum age varies depending on the job role:

- 35–50 years for Principal

Educational Qualifications

- For PRT (Primary Teacher): You need 50% marks in Class 12 , along with a D.El.Ed or B.El.Ed degree, and you must have passed CTET Paper I .
- For Junior Secretariat Assistant (JSA): You need to have passed Class 12 and have the required typing speed.
- For MTS (Multi-Tasking Staff): You need to have passed Class 10 .
Selection Process Explained
The selection process for these jobs happens in different stages:
- Tier-1 Exam: This is a two-hour online test. It has 100 multiple-choice questions (MCQs) and is for a total of 300 marks . Questions will cover Reasoning, Numerical Ability, Computer Literacy, General Knowledge, and Languages. Please note that there will be negative marking for wrong answers.
- Tier-2 Exam: This paper is for 100 marks . It will have both objective (MCQ) and descriptive questions. For every wrong answer, 1/4 mark will be deducted .
- Interview: Shortlisted candidates will attend an interview round, which is for 100 marks .
The final merit list will be made by considering 85% of your marks from the Tier-2 exam and 15% from your interview score .
