The Karnataka Common Entrance Test (KCET) for the 2026 academic year began on April 22 . The Karnataka Examinations Authority (KEA) is conducting the exam for about 3.3 lakh students . The exam is for admission to undergraduate courses in engineering and other fields in colleges across Karnataka. The main subjects of the KCET exam are Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, and Biology. A Kannada Language Test was also held for specific candidates on April 22.

Exam Details
The KCET 2026 exam is being held offline using OMR sheets. For each main subject, there are 60 multiple-choice questions. The Kannada Language Test has 50 questions. Each paper is given 80 minutes to complete. A good point for students is that there is no negative marking , so they can attempt all questions without worrying about losing marks.
Important Guidelines for Exam Day
- Students must reach their exam center at least 45 to 60 minutes before the reporting time.
- Candidates need to bring their KCET 2026 Admit Card and a valid Photo ID like an Aadhaar card or Voter ID.
- Entry to the exam hall will not be allowed after the exam starts. The morning session starts at 10:30 AM, and the afternoon session starts at 2:30 PM. Entry closes at 10:40 AM for the morning and 2:40 PM for the afternoon session.
