Kashish Methwani: From Miss India to Army Lieutenant

Kashish Methwani has been commissioned as a Lieutenant in the Indian Army. The ceremony took place on September 6 at the Officers Training Academy in Chennai. Methwani also won the title of Miss International India in 2023 . She secured an All India Rank of 2 in the Combined Defence Services (CDS) examination in 2024 .

Early Life and Education

Methwani was born on January 9, 2002. She is from Ulhasnagar, near Mumbai. She earned a master's degree in biotechnology. This was from Savitribai Phule University. She later researched neuroscience. Her research was at the Indian Institute of Science.

Path to Service and Pageantry

Methwani aspired to enter the glamour industry. She achieved this by winning Miss International India in 2023. Following this achievement, she focused on national service. She passed the CDS examination in 2024. Her rank was 2nd nationally.

Military Training and Social Work

She completed 11 months of training. This occurred at the Officers Training Academy in Chennai. Methwani also launched an initiative called "Critical Cause." This happened during the 2020 COVID-19 lockdown. The initiative raised awareness for plasma, blood, and organ donation.
