The Karnataka Examinations Authority (KEA) has announced the schedule for the third round of counselling for the Karnataka Post Graduate Common Entrance Test (PGCET) 2025 . This is an important update for students seeking admission to postgraduate courses like MBA, MCA, and M.Tech in colleges across Karnataka. The counselling process helps students get seats based on their PGCET scores.
KEA released the full details for the third counselling round recently. Students should note down all the key dates to avoid missing any important steps. The process includes checking available seats, choosing colleges, paying a security deposit, and finally getting a seat.

Here are the important dates for candidates participating in the third round of Karnataka PGCET 2025 counselling:

Who Can Participate? (Eligibility)
Only certain candidates can take part in this third counselling round. If a student did not get any seat in the first or second rounds of Karnataka PGCET counselling, they are eligible for this final round. This round gives another chance for those who have not yet secured a college seat.
However, students wishing to participate in the third round must pay a caution deposit. This deposit shows that the student is serious about taking a seat if it is offered. Without this payment, a candidate cannot enter their college choices (option entry) for this round.
Caution Deposit Details
Candidates need to pay an amount of INR 25,000 as a caution deposit. This payment window is from November 4, 2025 , to November 6, 2025 , until 6 PM. Students must make sure to complete this payment within these dates.
This caution deposit will be used towards the total fees that a selected candidate needs to pay for their college admission. For example, if the college fee is INR 50,000 , and the candidate has paid a INR 25,000 caution deposit, they will only need to pay the remaining INR 25,000 . This helps students manage their finances.
It is important to understand that this deposit can be lost. If a student gets a seat in this round but then fails to report to the college by the deadline ( November 13, 2025 ), or does not pay the remaining college fees after getting the seat, their INR 25,000 caution deposit will not be refunded. Students should only proceed with option entry if they are sure they will join the college if a seat is allotted.
Cancelling Seats from Earlier Rounds
Some students might have received a seat in an earlier round (Round 1 or Round 2) but now wish to cancel it and try for a better option in Round 3, or simply withdraw their admission. Such candidates can cancel their previously allotted seats. They must do this in person at the KEA office.
The last date for cancelling a seat from a previous round is November 6, 2025 . When cancelling, these candidates will receive a refund of the fee they had previously paid. However, an amount of INR 10,000 will be deducted from their refund. This deduction covers administrative charges. Students should consider this deduction before deciding to cancel their seat from a prior round.
Students must carefully check the KEA website for any further announcements and follow all instructions correctly. Meeting these deadlines and understanding the rules will help ensure a smooth admission process for Karnataka PGCET 2025 .
