Bengaluru: The Karnataka Examinations Authority (KEA) will soon release the dates for the Karnataka PGCET 2025 Round 2 counselling . This is an important update for students seeking admission to postgraduate courses like MBA, MCA, M.Tech, and M.Arch in colleges across Karnataka. Students should check the official KEA website, cetonline.karnataka.gov.in/kea/pgcet2025 , for the latest schedule.

More than 21,000 seats are available for filling in this second round of counselling. This provides another opportunity for many students to secure a spot in their desired programs.

Who can participate in PGCET Round 2 Counselling?

Students who took part in the first round of Karnataka PGCET counselling and selected Choice 2 or Choice 3 are eligible for the second round. These choices typically mean that a student was either satisfied with their allotted seat but wanted to explore better options (Choice 2) or was not satisfied and wanted to wait for the next round (Choice 3).

The KEA will soon publish the full schedule, which will include specific dates for option entry. Option entry is when eligible students can choose which colleges and courses they prefer based on the available seats.

More than 21,000 Seats Available

The second round of counselling aims to fill a large number of seats. According to the temporary seat list for Round 2, over 21,000 postgraduate seats are open. These seats are spread across various courses and colleges in Karnataka.

The distribution of seats for Round 2 counselling is as follows:

CourseColleges Participating in Round 2 CounsellingSeats Available
MBA 285 12,614
MCA 187 5,602
M.Tech / M.Arch 123 3,693

What happens in Round 2 Counselling?

Once the dates are announced, eligible candidates will need to take part in the Round 2 process. It is important to note that unlike the first round, the KEA does not allow new choice filling in the second round of Karnataka PGCET counselling. This means students' previous choices or actions from Round 1 will largely guide their participation in Round 2.

After the second round of counselling is completed, any seats that still remain vacant will be moved to a final round of counselling. The KEA will release separate details for this final round if needed.

Stay Updated

Students and parents are advised to regularly visit the official KEA website: cetonline.karnataka.gov.in/kea/pgcet2025 for the most accurate and up-to-date information regarding the Karnataka PGCET Round 2 counselling schedule and seat allotment details. Waiting for the official announcement is key to ensure all steps are followed correctly.
