The Jodhpur boy pursuing an MBA at IIM Nagpur secured the highest-ever Rs 69.57 lakh per annum deal during the campus placement process. The earlier highest CTC received was Rs 64 lakh by an IT company. Incidentally, this was the inaugural time foreign recruiters joined the campus drive at Mihan-SEZ's top B-school as it began in Nagpur almost a decade ago.
Once more, the institute has secured 100% placements, and all of its 264 MBA students were placed. The 2023-25 batch will graduate this Sunday at the 11th convocation ceremony. Indian Hotels Company Limited (IHCL) MD Puneet Chhatwal will be the chief guest at the convocation. 264 students, of which 117 were girls, belonged to the PGP batch 2023-25, and all of them had attended the campus interviews.
IIM-Nagpur popularity among women students has been steadily increasing which was reflected in the growing number of girl students. The figure went over 44% in this batch, a 2-notch increase.
The Jodhpur youngster is a BE electronics and communication qualified engineer with over 2 years of experience working in the banking industry, IIM-N revealed while offering responses to TOI questions. All the placements were from the BFSI and ITES sectors. FMCD/FMCG and consulting, other than BFSI and ITES, were the most demanded sectors, the institute also added.
Salary offer growth on a year-on-year basis is 10.93% and 6.48% in average and median, respectively. This year average and median package offers stood at Rs 18.07 LPA (CTC) and Rs17.03 LPA (CTC), respectively.
The hiring companies represented varied sectors such as consulting, BFSI, ITES, manufacturing, FMCG/FMCD, and conglomerates. The key recruiters were Microsoft, Amazon, Adani, BNP Paribas, Vedanta, Aditya Birla Capital, Lupin, Tata Power, Axis Bank, Deloitte, Accenture, BNY Mellon, Cognizant, IFB Industries, FedEx, Vivo, and Valency International, among others, reported IIM-N.
IIM-Nagpur director Bhimaraya Metri said the institute made history with the visit of international recruiters from the Gulf and Singapore, in addition to Indian companies.
"It's all about exposing the institute to the recruiters. We invited them to our campus and informed them of our growth and success, which impressed them," he said.
Metri believed that IIM-N is presently the fastest growing among the new gen IIMs. "We have been getting better packages over the last five years, except for 2024. We have approached the recruiters strategically to offset the impact of the world recession. We have developed good rapport and relationship with the corporate world," he further said.
