How to Apply Online
Applications are accepted online. Interested students can visit the official NVS websites: navodaya.gov.in or cbseitms.rcil.gov.in . Click on the registration link for JNVST Class VI for the 2027 session. Applicants must accurately fill in details about the student, their district of residence, and their current school.
Required documents include a scanned photograph of the candidate. Signatures of the candidate and a parent are also necessary. A certificate from the headmaster of the student's current school must be uploaded. All information must be checked before submitting the application. Eligibility Criteria
To be eligible for the JNVST, students must be currently studying in Class 5 during the 2026-27 academic year . They must be studying in a government or government-recognized school. The school must be located within the district where the Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya is situated.
About the JNVST
The JNVST is a nationwide entrance examination. It determines admissions to approximately 665 Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalayas across India. The test assesses students through objective-type questions. Subjects include mental ability, arithmetic, and language.
The JNVST exam is scheduled for November 28, 2026 . The exam will be conducted from 11:30 AM to 1:30 PM. At least 75% of seats in each Vidyalaya are reserved for students from rural areas.
