JNU Advisory Details
JNU’s official statement urged all university stakeholders to act responsibly. Prioritizing personal safety was also emphasized. The university requested students refrain from participating in or visiting gatherings at or around Jantar Mantar. This directive aligns with Supreme Court guidelines for public demonstrations. University of Delhi's Stance
The University of Delhi previously issued a similar advisory. DU warned students against unlawful gatherings at Jantar Mantar. The university also referenced Supreme Court directions. DU stated that such activities pose risks to student safety. They could also impact academic and professional progress. Students were urged to stay away from Jantar Mantar. Compliance with the law and safety were priorities.
DU also cautioned students about online content. A significant amount of fake and misleading information is circulating. This content aims to escalate the situation. Students were advised to exercise caution regarding online information.
Impact on Local Schools
Central Delhi schools have adopted hybrid learning models. This change is due to the ongoing protests. The protest has led to traffic curbs. Metro restrictions are also in effect. These measures affect school transport facilities. The Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) closed 17 metro stations. These closures are in place until further notice.
