The Jammu & Kashmir Board of School Education (JKBOSE) has started its Class 10 board examinations today, November 3, 2025 . These important exams are for students in the Kashmir Division, the winter zone areas of the Jammu Division, and the Union Territory of Ladakh. Around 95,000 students are taking part in these bi-annual examinations. In a significant move to support students, JKBOSE announced a 15% reduction in the syllabus for this session. This decision was made because of challenges faced by students due to recent floods and heavy rainfall in several regions.

For the smooth and fair conduct of these examinations, JKBOSE has set up a total of 994 examination centres . These centres are spread across the various districts, ensuring that students have accessible locations to appear for their exams.

Syllabus Reduced to Help Students
To ease the burden on students, JKBOSE has made a special change for the 2025 session: the Class 10 syllabus has been reduced by 15% . This decision came after many areas faced floods and very heavy rain. Such events often cause delays in schooling and make it hard for students to complete their studies on time. By reducing the syllabus, the board aims to provide relief and help students perform their best. For assessment purposes, preparing 85% of the syllabus will be considered equal to preparing the full 100% .
Over 95,000 Students Appearing
A large number of students from different parts of Jammu, Kashmir, and Ladakh are appearing for these Class 10 board exams. Around 95,000 students have registered. This shows the wide reach and importance of these examinations across the region. The students are from both the Kashmir Division and the winter zone areas of the Jammu Division, along with the Union Territory of Ladakh.
Here is a detailed look at the number of students appearing from each region:
