Jharkhand plans to increase its CM Schools of Excellence to 5,000. Chief Minister Hemant Soren directed officials Tuesday to expand the program. The goal is to improve public schooling standards across the state. The initiative aims to provide better education to students in marginalized areas.

School Expansion and Teacher Allocation

Currently, 80 CM Schools of Excellence are operational. These schools aim to match private school education quality. Soren emphasized improved access to education for all children. He mandated that within six to eight months, no school should have only one teacher.

The Chief Minister's office released a statement detailing the plan. "We want to ensure every child in every village has access to good education," the statement read. The target is to address teacher shortages promptly.

Improving Student Access and Retention

Officials are also developing a pilot transport service. This service will help students travel to and from school. The aim is to reduce barriers to attendance.

Recent progress shows fewer students dropping out of primary and secondary education. The education department is actively working to re-enroll dropouts. This includes collaboration with the Labour Department to identify working children.

The expansion strategy involves establishing more schools like the Dishom Guru Shibu Soren Residential School. Key objectives include keeping more students enrolled. A specific focus is on reducing dropout rates among girls.

Teacher Training and Educational Quality

The plan includes hiring more teachers. It also prioritizes enhancing the quality of education provided. Improved training for existing teachers is a core component.

Soren noted positive strides in primary education and literacy. He attributed some success to the CM Schools of Excellence. These schools have reportedly performed well.

Officials reported positive progress in reducing primary and secondary school dropouts. The campaign to bring students back to school is ongoing. The Labour Department's involvement helps locate children engaged in work.
