The Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) Main January 22 shift 2 exam was the most difficult among all the shifts held on January 21 and 22. Students reported that the Mathematics section in this shift was particularly challenging. Physics and Chemistry papers were of moderate difficulty.
The National Testing Agency (NTA) conducted the JEE Main 2026 exam on January 22 in two shifts: from 9 am to 12 pm and from 3 pm to 6 pm. Based on feedback from students who took the exam, the second shift on January 22 was the toughest.
Many students found the Mathematics questions in the evening shift to be very long and hard. Some students said they could only solve about 10 questions in this section. The Physics and Chemistry sections in this shift were found to be of medium difficulty.
The first shift on January 22 was considered easy to moderate. In that shift, Physics was rated as moderate to difficult, and Chemistry was also moderate.
The JEE Main 2026 Session 1 exams are being held from January 21 to January 29.
