Tie-Breaking Rules
In cases where candidates achieve the same JEE Main scores, the NTA applies specific tie-breaking rules. These rules prioritize higher scores in individual subjects.
Tie-Breaking Priority:
- Mathematics : Highest score in Mathematics is considered first.
- Physics : If still tied, the score in Physics is used.
- Chemistry : If a tie persists, the score in Chemistry is evaluated.
Further ties are resolved by considering the proportion of attempted incorrect and correct answers across all subjects. Candidates with a lower proportion of incorrect answers are ranked higher. This process is then applied sequentially to Mathematics, Physics, and Chemistry.
If a tie remains after these steps, candidates will be assigned the same rank.
Candidates should refer to the official NTA JEE website for any further announcements or clarifications.
