The National Testing Agency (NTA) will hold the JEE Main 2026 Session 1 Exam starting from January 21, 2026 . Students taking the exam can download their admit cards from the official website: jeemain.nta.nic.in . The NTA has released admit cards for exams scheduled on January 21, 22, 23, and 24, 2026 . All students must bring their admit card and a valid photo ID to the exam centre.
The JEE Main 2026 exams will take place in two shifts. Shift 1 runs from 9:00 AM to 12:00 PM . Shift 2 runs from 3:00 PM to 6:00 PM . Exams will be held in many cities across India and 15 cities outside India. Students must arrive at the exam centre at the reporting time. This helps complete the ID check process smoothly. Reporting time is at least 90 minutes before the exam starts.

JEE Main 2026 Session 1 Exam Dress Code
NTA has rules for what students should wear. These rules help keep the exam safe and fair. Students must follow the dress code to avoid problems on exam day.
Dress Code For Male Candidates
- Do not wear clothes with large buttons.
- Do not wear clothes with metal items, like belts.
- Students cannot cover their heads. Avoid caps and mufflers.
- Jeans are allowed. Wear comfortable jeans.
- Do not wear any jewellery or ornaments. This includes rings, bracelets, or goggles.
- Do not wear footwear with thick soles.
Dress Code For Female Candidates
- Do not wear stoles or dupattas.
- Do not wear any jewellery or ornaments. This includes earrings, rings, nose pins, lockets, chains, anklets, or toe rings.
- Do not wear clothes with large buttons or metal items.
- Wear light and comfortable clothes. Jeans are allowed.
- Avoid footwear with thick soles and heels. Wear slippers, floaters, or light sandals instead.
JEE Main 2026 Session 1 Exam Instructions
Students should visit their exam centre one day before the exam. This helps them know the route and travel time. It will prevent stress on exam day.
Students must carry these items to the exam centre:
- Your JEE Main 2026 Session 1 Admit Card .
- A self-declaration form.
- One passport-sized photograph.
- A PwD certificate (if you are a Person with Disability and have one).
- A valid photo ID proof (like Aadhaar card, PAN card, Driving License, Passport, or Voter ID).
Students who do not have their JEE Main 2026 Admit Card will not be allowed to enter the exam centre.
