Understanding Your Exam City Intimation Slip

The City Intimation Slip is an early notice. It tells you only the name of the city where your exam will happen. It does not show the exact exam centre address or your specific exam time. The main purpose of this slip is to help you plan your travel and accommodation in advance. This avoids last-minute rush and helps you focus better on your studies.

How to Download Your Exam City Intimation Slip

To get your JEE Main 2026 City Intimation Slip and confirm your exam date, follow these simple steps:

  • Step 1: Visit the Official Website. Open your internet browser and go to jeemain.nta.nic.in . This is the only place to get official updates.
  • Step 2: Find the Download Link. On the homepage, look for a link that says "JEE Main 2026 Session 1 City Intimation Slip" or similar. This link will be active once the slip is released.
  • Step 3: Log In to Your Account. Click on the link. You will be asked to enter your login details.
  • Step 4: Enter Your Details. Type in your application number . Then, enter either your password or your date of birth (as used during registration). Make sure all details are accurate to avoid login issues.
  • Step 5: View and Save Your Slip. Once logged in, your Exam City Intimation Slip will be displayed. Check the details, including your name, application number, and the allotted exam city.
  • Step 6: Print for Your Records. It is advised to download the slip and print a copy. Keep this copy safe for future reference, especially for planning your travel.

JEE Main Admit Card 2026 Details

After the City Intimation Slip, the NTA will release the JEE Main Admit Card. This is the official entry pass for your exam. The Admit Card will be available in the second or third week of January 2026 , usually about 3 to 4 days before your actual exam date. It will contain complete details like your specific exam centre address, the exact time of your exam, your photograph, signature, and important rules for the exam day. You must download and print this Admit Card and carry it to the examination hall.

Understanding Exam Centre Allotment

During the application process, students were asked to choose up to four preferred cities for their exam centre. The NTA makes every effort to allot a city from the choices made by the candidate. However, due to practical reasons like limited space in certain cities or administrative needs, the NTA may sometimes allot a different city. The NTA has clearly stated that its decision regarding the allotment of the exam city or centre will be final. Students cannot request changes once the city is allotted. If very few candidates are from one city, NTA might combine it with other nearby cities.

Students are strongly advised to keep visiting the official websites, jeemain.nta.nic.in and nta.nic.in , regularly for the latest announcements. Do not rely on unofficial sources for information. Staying updated will ensure a smooth process for your JEE Main 2026 Session 1 examination.
