JEE Main 2026 Exam Date Changed for West Bengal Students

The National Testing Agency (NTA) has changed the exam date for some students appearing in the JEE Main 2026 Session 1. This change affects students from West Bengal who were set to take their exam on January 23, 2026 . The decision was made because Saraswati Puja will be celebrated on the same day.

These students will receive a new exam date. This new date will be chosen from the already announced schedule for JEE Main 2026 Session 1. The NTA shared this important update on its official social media (X) account on January 15, 2026 .

JEE Main Exam Date Change Explained

The NTA made this change after receiving requests from students in West Bengal. They pointed out that January 23, 2026, is a significant day for Saraswati Puja celebrations in the state. To make sure no student misses the exam due to this festival, the NTA decided to reschedule. Only students from West Bengal who were given the January 23, 2026 , date will have their exams changed. All other exam dates and student schedules remain the same.

The JEE Main 2026 Session 1 exams are scheduled to take place on several dates. Students will be given a new date from this list:

  • January 21, 2026
  • January 22, 2026
  • January 23, 2026 (Original date for some West Bengal students, now changed)
  • January 24, 2026
  • January 28, 2026
  • January 29, 2026

Students should regularly check the official NTA website for their new exam dates and any further announcements. It is important to stay updated through official channels only.

JEE Main 2026 Admit Card and City Slip

Before the admit card, the NTA released the city intimation slip. This slip tells students which city their exam center will be in. The official admit card for JEE Main 2026 Session 1 is expected to be released soon. NTA has stated that the admit card will be available about 3 to 4 days before the exam date.

Students must download their admit cards from the official NTA website. The admit card is a very important document. It contains details like the exact exam center address, exam time, and rules for the exam day. Students must carry their admit card to the exam center.
