About JEE Main 2026
JEE Main is conducted for admission to undergraduate engineering (B.E./B.Tech), architecture (B.Arch), and planning (B.Planning) programs. These programs are offered at NITs, IIITs, other Centrally Funded Technical Institutions (CFTIs), and various state-funded universities. JEE Main is also the qualifying test for JEE Advanced, which is required for admission to the Indian Institutes of Technology (IITs).
The exam is held in two sessions (January and April) to give students two chances to improve their scores and avoid waiting an entire year if they miss one session.
