The JEE Main 2026 BArch and BPlanning exams are scheduled for January 29, 2026 . The National Testing Agency (NTA) will conduct these exams for students seeking admission to Architecture (BArch) and Planning (BPlanning) courses in top engineering colleges across India. The exam will be held in a single shift from 9:00 AM to 12:30 PM .
Exam Details
The JEE Main Paper 2 is divided into two parts: Paper 2A for BArch and Paper 2B for BPlanning.
Paper 2A (BArch)
This paper tests candidates on Mathematics, General Aptitude, and Drawing. It has a total of 77 questions carrying 400 marks. Mathematics and General Aptitude sections are conducted online (Computer Based Test - CBT), while the Drawing section is done offline using pen and paper.
Paper 2B (BPlanning)
This paper includes Mathematics, General Aptitude, and Planning-based questions. It consists of 100 questions , all in CBT mode, for a total of 400 marks. The Drawing section from Paper 2A is replaced with Planning questions.
Exam Day Rules
Candidates must follow specific guidelines on the exam day to ensure a smooth process.
Dress Code
There is no strict dress code, but students are not allowed to wear shoes with thick soles or clothes with large buttons. Sikh candidates can wear their religious attire.
Items to Carry
Candidates must bring the following to the exam hall:
- JEE Main 2026 Paper 2 Admit Card
- A valid Photo Identity Proof (same as used in the application form)
- Two passport-size photographs
- Photo verification certificate (if NTA has sent an email asking for it)
Items Not Allowed
The following items are strictly prohibited inside the exam hall:
- Electronic gadgets like mobile phones, smartwatches, calculators, or earphones.
- Any study material or written notes.
- Jewellery and accessories like rings, bracelets, or chains, as they may cause issues during security checks.
After the Exam
Once the exam concludes, coaching institutes are expected to release memory-based question papers with answers. These will help students review their performance and understand the exam pattern for future reference. Student reactions and a detailed paper analysis will also be updated on various educational platforms.
