JEE Aspirant Dies After Flyover Jump in Kota

An 18-year-old student preparing for the Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) died Saturday night in Kota, Rajasthan. Police suspect suicide. The student was from Bihar and had been studying in Kota since January.

Incident Details

The student, identified as Jaishree, was a Class 12 student. She lived in a postgraduate (PG) accommodation in the Vigyan Nagar area. She allegedly jumped from the Kota-Jhalwar flyover. She was taken to a hospital but died during treatment.

Police Investigation

Police are treating the death as a suspected suicide. They are investigating the student's coaching institute and PG accommodation. Authorities stated that more details about the circumstances would be available after speaking with the student's parents. The investigation is ongoing.

Previous Incidents

This incident follows a similar case in Kota. In November 2025, a 17-year-old JEE student died after falling from the ninth floor of a building. Police also suspected suicide in that case. The student was from Bhopal, Madhya Pradesh. He had been preparing for JEE-Mains in Kota for two years.
