The Joint Entrance Examination (Advanced), known as JEE Advanced, is one of the toughest entrance exams globally. It is the required test for students aiming to study engineering or science at the prestigious Indian Institutes of Technology (IITs).

JEE Advanced vs. China's GAOKAO
JEE Advanced is often compared to China’s GAOKAO. Both are highly challenging, but their testing styles differ:
- JEE Advanced: Requires applying concepts from many topics, deep knowledge, and strong problem-solving skills under time pressure.
- GAOKAO: Focuses on broad knowledge, demanding significant memorization and endurance.
Many consider JEE Advanced tougher due to its emphasis on critical thinking and conceptual application over rote learning.
JEE Advanced Exam Pattern
The JEE Advanced exam pattern is not fixed. The organizing IIT, which changes yearly, can make minor changes to the number of questions or total marks.
The exam has two papers, Paper 1 and Paper 2 , held on the same day.
Paper 1 (Morning: 9 am to 12 pm)
