The cut-off of JEE Advanced has been decreased this year from 109 to 76, a decrease of almost 30%. For the current academic year, the authorities have also decreased subject-wise cut-offs by 3%. Indian Institute of Technology, Kanpur has released category-wise cut-off marks for JEE Advanced 2025 along with IIT admission results. Cut-off marks and minimum qualifying percentages have decreased in all categories of General, OBC-NCL, EWS, SC, and ST this year.
The authorities have provided students with their respective JEE Advanced scorecards on jeeadv.ac.in. The institute conducted the test for the top 250,000 rank holders who sat for JEE Mains 2025. The JEE Advanced 2025 rank list is prepared on the basis of cumulative marks scored by the candidates. It is mandatory for the candidates to score at least 5.83% in each of the subjects and 20.56% in total to be placed on the JEE Advanced Common Rank List (CRL) 2025.
IITs are providing a total of 17,695 BTech seats under JoSAA counselling for 2025. With almost 100,000 candidates vying for seats, only 9.83% could find a seat in IIT last year. That means almost 1 out of 10 candidates get through BTech courses in IITs. Based on the minimum qualifying marks for getting into IITs, the JEE Advanced cut-off for 2025 for general category candidates is 76, for EWS and OBC candidates it is 66, and for SC and ST candidates it is 37.
