No Fee Increase for Indian Students
A key update for the 2026-27 academic year is that JMI will not increase fees for Indian students. This applies to all classes and all schools under Jamia Millia Islamia. This step aims to keep education affordable and accessible for more Indian families.
Professor Asif, the Vice Chancellor of JMI, commented on this decision. He said that JMI schools are very important for India's education system. He added that the university wants Jamia schools to be open to everyone. There will be special focus on girl children and students with special needs.
Improving School Facilities and Education
JMI is also working to improve its school infrastructure starting this academic year. This includes providing better facilities for all students. A special focus is on children with special needs. For them, JMI will appoint dedicated special tutors and Junior Research Fellows (JRF scholars) from the field of special education. These experts will help create a better learning environment for all students.
The university is also updating its curriculum. The goal is to match new requirements and include value-based and skill-based learning. This aligns with the National Education Policy. JMI is also asking for help from its former students (alumni) to make education quality even better.
