The India Meteorological Department (IMD) issued flash flood guidance for five states on Tuesday . Low to moderate flash flood risk exists in parts of Jammu and Kashmir, Ladakh, Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand, West Madhya Pradesh, and East Rajasthan. The department forecasts potential heavy rainfall, with some areas already experiencing significant downpours.
Recent rainfall data shows up to 50 mm in the last six hours. Some areas received up to 133 mm in the past 24 hours. The IMD predicts very heavy rainfall, up to 120 mm, within the next 24 hours.
Residents in affected regions should exercise caution, especially when traveling. Surface runoff and waterlogging are possible in saturated and low-lying areas. Jammu and Kashmir, Uttarakhand, and Himachal Pradesh face a forecast "risk" of flash floods in the coming 24 hours. Other regions are under a flash flood "threat".

Jammu and Kashmir & Ladakh
The IMD identified Doda, Kathua, Reasi, Ramban, and Udhampur districts for flash flood threat. Anantnag, Kulgam, and Samba are also included for the immediate hours.
Himachal Pradesh
Districts with possible flash flood risk include Shimla, Kinnaur, Chamba, Kangra, Mandi, Kullu, Solan, Sirmaur, and Lahaul and Spiti.
Uttarakhand
The IMD guidance covers Bageshwar, Chamoli, Champawat, Dehradun, Garhwal Pauri, Garhwal Tehri, Nainital, Pithoragarh, Rudraprayag, and Uttarkashi.
West Madhya Pradesh
Flash flood risk is present in Agar-Malwa, Ratlam, Shajapur, Rajgarh, Neemuch, Mandsaur, and Ujjain.
East Rajasthan
Districts under the IMD's flash flood guidance are Jhalawar, Baran, Bundi, Kota, Bhilwara, and Pratapgarh.
