IIT Mandi plans a major expansion by 2027. The institute aims to increase its student body to over 5,000. It also plans to hire more than 350 faculty members. Director Professor Laxmidhar Behera announced this on Monday during IIT Mandi’s 17th Foundation Day.

The growth aims to accommodate more high-achieving students. These students enter through the JEE Main and JEE Advanced exams. The expansion will maintain the quality of technical education.
