IIT Madras is accepting applications for its Post Doctoral Fellowship program. The fellowship offers researchers who have recently completed their PhD a chance to conduct research at the institute. Applications are open now.
Eligibility Requirements
Candidates must have completed their PhD within the last five years. Those who have submitted their thesis are also eligible. They must provide their provisional certificate within six months of starting. Applicants need at least two Q1 journal publications as the primary contributor. The maximum age limit is 32 years. SC, ST, and women candidates receive a five-year age relaxation. OBC-NCL candidates get a three-year relaxation.
Application Process
Potential fellows must first identify an IIT Madras faculty member in their research area. They must obtain written consent from this faculty member before applying. The application is then submitted and reviewed by the relevant department. Shortlisted candidates will present their research proposals. An evaluation committee assesses the proposal's originality and value. Successful candidates proceed to an interview with a selection committee. The Director of IIT Madras provides final approval.
Fellowship Details
The fellowship lasts for a minimum of two years. It begins with a one-year term. This term can extend up to two additional years based on performance.
