IIT Madras Offers Free AI Courses to Everyone on SWAYAM Plus

The Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Madras has launched five new online courses on its SWAYAM Plus platform in Artificial Intelligence (AI). The five courses are completely free of charge to students, research scholars, and working professionals regardless of any educational background. The primary aim is to make learning AI easy and within reach for everyone without taking into account their previous knowledge or experience.

One of the largest attractions of such courses is that they do not require you to have any previous experience or training in AI or coding. Regardless of whether you never studied how to code or were educated on AI, you qualify to take these courses. You just need to have basic digital literacy and a desire to learn. These courses have been designed with such a purpose that they become easy to acquire and beneficial for beginners.

The five AI courses are:

AI in Physics: The course discusses how AI technologies like machine learning and neural networks can be used to solve real issues in physics.

AI in Chemistry: Students will study the application of AI in chemistry experiments and research.

AI in Accounting: This course teaches students how AI can be utilized in financial data management and analysis.

Cricket Analysis with AI: Ideal for those who have a sports inclination, this course entails learning how one can utilize AI to analyze cricket statistics and performance.

AI/ML with Python: Introductory course that makes an individual aware of the basics of Artificial Intelligence as well as Machine Learning with Python.

Each of the classes is 25 to 45 hours and is offered for your convenience on a computer, as they can be taken online. They are also NCrF compliant, thus, the courses can be used by colleges and universities in their regular curriculum that they already employ to award credit to their students.

According to IIT Madras, these courses come under their efforts to improve skill-based learning that increases employability. By providing greater access to education in AI, they want to make more people proficient in the skills and knowledge needed in the high-tech employment market of today.
