Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Kanpur will launch four new online M.Tech programs in September 2026. The programs target graduates and professionals seeking advanced studies in Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, Smart Grids, and Sustainable Energy Technologies.
New Online M.Tech Programs Announced
IIT Kanpur is expanding its postgraduate offerings with four Senate-approved online M.Tech degrees. These programs are designed to bridge the gap between academic knowledge and industry demands. The virtual format allows students to study without pausing their careers. Degrees earned online will hold the same recognition as on-campus degrees.
Students can complete the M.Tech programs within two to four years. Classes will be held on weekends, taught by IIT Kanpur faculty. The institute aims to attract motivated individuals to these specialized fields.
Admissions and Eligibility
Admission to the M.Tech programs will be based on GATE 2026 scores . Candidates can also apply through a special entrance test conducted by IIT Kanpur. Professionals with five or more years of relevant work experience may receive waivers from certain admission requirements.
