IIT JAM 2027 Brochure & Registration Dates Announced

IIT Kharagpur will release the IIT JAM 2027 information brochure on August 22, 2026 . This brochure contains details for postgraduate science program admissions at Indian Institutes of Technology (IITs) and other participating institutions.

The official brochure will be available for download on the JAM website: jam.iitkgp.ac.in. Candidates interested in applying can begin the registration process on September 5, 2026 .

Application Details and Key Dates

The application window opens on September 5, 2026. Candidates must submit their applications by the deadline of October 12, 2026 . The JAM Online Application Processing System (JOAPS) will handle all applications.

The information brochure outlines eligibility criteria, the exam pattern, syllabus, application fees, and reservation policies. Candidates are advised to review this information thoroughly before applying.

Physically Disabled (PwD) candidates must upload required forms after completing their fee payment, also starting September 5, 2026.

Application Process and Exam Format

Registration for IIT JAM 2027 occurs online via the JOAPS portal. Applicants must create an account using their email ID. Payment of the application fee is mandatory before the October 12 deadline.

The IIT JAM 2027 exam will be conducted in Computer Based Test (CBT) mode. The exam covers seven test papers: Biotechnology, Chemistry, Economics, Geology, Mathematics, Mathematical Statistics, and Physics.

Admissions for 2027-28 Academic Session

Scores from the IIT JAM 2027 exam will be used for admissions to various postgraduate programs for the 2027-28 academic session. These include M.Sc., Joint M.Sc., Ph.D., Ph.D. Dual Degree, M.Tech., M.S. (Research), and Integrated Ph.D. programs.
