IIT Dharwad is offering a one-year residential Artificial Intelligence (AI) course. Applications are open until August 31, 2026 . This program is part of the government's Pradhan Mantri Virasat Ka Samvardhan (PM VIKAS) scheme. Interested individuals can apply online at pm-vikas.iitdh.ac.in.
Eligibility Requirements
The AI course is open to several groups. This includes graduates with foundational AI knowledge. It also accepts candidates with Industrial Training Institute (ITI) qualifications. Final-year undergraduate students are eligible to apply. The program focuses on Artificial Intelligence Technocrat roles.
Benefits for Selected Candidates
Selected participants will receive one year of free AI training at IIT Dharwad. This includes free boarding and lodging in the hostel. Upon successful completion, students will get a government-recognized certificate from the Sector Skill Council. They will also receive a monthly stipend of INR 1,000 . This stipend is deposited directly into their bank accounts. The program offers two months of post-placement support. A financial bonus of INR 4,000 is provided after job placement.
Required Documents
Applicants must upload several documents with their application. These include an Aadhaar card and a passport-size photograph. A Class 10 certificate is needed for age proof. Graduation certificates are also required. A bank passbook must be submitted. An EWS certificate is necessary if applicable. Minority community certificates are required for eligible candidates.
Seat Reservation
The course reserves 33 percent of seats for female candidates. Up to 15 percent of seats are reserved for non-minority candidates from the Economically Weaker Sections (EWS) category. Candidates undergo a screening process for selection.
