The Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Dhanbad has started its 2025 placement season very well. Four students from Computer Science Engineering (CSE) have received job offers worth ₹80 lakh per year . This is the highest salary offer made so far this season. The placement drive began on December 1 . In the first 11 days of Phase 1, over 350 students have secured jobs, showing high interest from companies.
Companies have made more than 200 pre-placement offers (PPOs) to students even before the main placement rounds. These PPOs are job offers given based on internships or early interviews. Including these PPOs, over 550 students from IIT Dhanbad have already found jobs. The institute expects the total number of placed students to go past 600 as the placement season continues.
Many big companies visited the campus to recruit students. Here are some of the top companies and the number of offers they made:
- BEL: 11 job offers
- InMobi: 5 job offers
- Accenture S&C: 9 job offers
- Accenture Japan: 2 job offers
- Microsoft: 2 job offers (for Applied Scientist roles)
- NVIDIA Software: 1 job offer
These companies offered a variety of roles in technology and engineering fields.
Placements for all 23 IITs in India started on December 1 . IIT Dhanbad's strong start suggests a positive trend for job hiring across all IITs this year. Last year, the highest job offer at IIT Dhanbad reached ₹1.22 crore . The early results for this year indicate another competitive season for students seeking jobs.

For BTech + MTech courses, the placement rate in 2025 was 100% , except for Civil Engineering, which had a 50% placement rate. Integrated MTech courses also showed strong results: Applied Geology at 87.5% , Applied Geophysics at 81.82% , and Mathematics & Computing at 89.29% .
