Indian Institute of Management (IIM) Raipur introduced a new two-year course of MBA in Public Policy and Governance. The course is being offered under the Chief Minister's Good Governance Fellowship (CMGGF). It is an important step by the Government of Chhattisgarh to train young professionals and make them future leaders in governance.
Government Fully Funded Program
This MBA program will be available for just 36 students. The bit of good news is that the government of the state will sponsor the whole program. That means selected students will not need to pay any fee. Except for that, each student will receive a monthly allowance of Rs 50,000 for personal expenses.
They will also get complimentary boarding and dining during their stay on the campus during their study period in the IIM Raipur campus. Thus, the program not only turns out to be of quality but also turns out to be economically hassle-free for deserving candidates.
A Combination of Classroom and Practical Learning
The MBA in Public Policy and Governance is designed with care to entwine theoretical study with practical exposure. The classes will be taken by the students at IIM Raipur's modern campus. They will also carry out field assignments and fieldwork with coordination from the various departments of the Chhattisgarh Government.
This will allow students to learn how to create and implement policies. This will also allow them to come up with solutions to actual issues of governance and present them as well.
Aims to Create Future Public Leaders
According to Prof. Ram Kumar Kakani, Director, IIM Raipur, this program is a giant step in creating ethical and capable public leaders. There will be a focus on finding practical solutions to problems, getting to know public policy, and knowing how the government works.
The aim is to shape the students into leaders who would be in a position to make a positive difference in society using good governance and good policies.
