The Indian Institute of Management (IIM) Jammu has announced its admission rules for the Integrated Program in Management (IPM) for the 2026-31 batch . Students aiming for this program must take the JIPMAT 2026 exam . This exam score will be the most important part of the admission process.
The IPM is a special 5-year course that combines a Bachelor's degree (BBA) with a Master's degree (MBA). It helps students get management education right after Class 12. This program prepares them for leadership roles in business.
Eligibility for IPM 2026
To apply for the IIM Jammu IPM program, students must meet specific rules:
- They must have passed their Class 12 board exams in 2024 or later .
- This means students who took a gap year of up to two years after Class 12 are eligible. For example, if you passed Class 12 in 2024, you can still apply for the 2026 batch. This is different from IIM Bodh Gaya, which allows only a one-year gap.
How IIM Jammu Will Select Students
IIM Jammu will create a merit list (a list of selected students) based on a scoring system. The JIPMAT 2026 exam carries the most weight, accounting for 70% of the total score. Marks obtained in Class 10 and Class 12 will also be considered.
Weightage for Merit List:
| Component | Weightage (%) |
| JIPMAT Score | 70 |
| Class 12 Marks | 15 |
| Class 10 Marks | 15 |
It is important for students to know that IIM Jammu will not give extra marks for gender diversity this year. All applicants will be judged only on their academic performance and JIPMAT scores.
JIPMAT Sectional Cutoff Requirements
Besides the overall selection criteria, students must also meet minimum scores in each section of the JIPMAT exam. These are called sectional cutoffs. Students need to score at least the mentioned percentile in each part of the JIPMAT exam to be considered for admission.
JIPMAT 2026 Sectional Cutoff Percentile:
| Category | Quantitative Aptitude | Data Interpretation | Verbal Ability |
| General | 50 | 50 | 50 |
| EWS (Economically Weaker Section) | 35 | 35 | 35 |
| NC-OBC (Non-Creamy Layer - Other Backward Classes) | 35 | 35 | 35 |
| SC (Scheduled Caste) | 30 | 30 | 30 |
| ST (Scheduled Tribe) | 25 | 25 | 25 |
| PwD (Persons with Disabilities) | 25 | 25 | 25 |
These cutoffs mean that a student must score at or above these percentiles in all three sections of JIPMAT, along with their overall JIPMAT score and school marks, to be considered for admission. For example, a General category student must achieve at least 50 percentile in Quantitative Aptitude, 50 in Data Interpretation, and 50 in Verbal Ability.
Future of IPM Admissions
IIM Jammu has also shared its interest in working with other IIMs that offer IPM courses to create a common entrance exam. This could mean that in the future, there might be one single test for IPM admissions across many IIMs. However, this is a future possibility and not yet confirmed.
Students interested in the IPM 2026-31 batch at IIM Jammu should prepare well for the JIPMAT 2026 exam and aim for strong marks in their Class 10 and 12 board exams.
