IIM Bodhgaya has announced the minimum scores needed for MBA admission in 2026. Students who took the **CAT 2025** exam and wish to join the MBA program at certain Indian Institutes of Management (IIMs) should check these new rules. The General category students need at least a **95 percentile** in CAT 2025 to be considered.
This year, IIM Bodhgaya is managing the admission process called Common Admission Process, or **CAP 2026**. Only three IIMs will be part of CAP 2026. These are **IIM Bodhgaya**, **IIM Jammu**, and **IIM Sirmaur**. This is a change from previous years. Earlier, IIM Kashipur, IIM Raipur, IIM Ranchi, and IIM Tiruchirappalli were also part of CAP. But now, these four IIMs have started their own joint admission process called **IIM JAP** for MBA admissions.
IIM Bodhgaya will handle the first steps for all three IIMs in CAP 2026. This includes checking the CAT 2025 scores, inviting students for interviews, and making the final list of selected candidates.
IIM CAP 2026 Cut-off Scores
The cut-off score is the minimum percentile a student needs in the CAT 2025 exam to be called for the next rounds of admission. These scores vary for different student categories. Students need to meet both the overall percentile and the percentile for each section of the exam.
| Category | VARC | DILR | QA | Total |
| GEN | 75 | 75 | 75 | 95 |
| EWS | 55 | 55 | 55 | 81 |
| NC-OBC | 52 | 52 | 52 | 81 |
| SC | 45 | 45 | 45 | 66 |
| ST | 25 | 25 | 30 | 42 |
| PwD | 25 | 25 | 30 | 42 |
Here, VARC stands for Verbal Ability and Reading Comprehension, DILR for Data Interpretation and Logical Reasoning, and QA for Quantitative Ability. 'Total' means the overall CAT percentile.
How IIM CAP 2026 Admission Works
The CAP 2026 process has a few main steps:
- Step 1: Shortlisting Candidates: IIM Bodhgaya will check the **CAT 2025** scores of all applicants. Only those who meet the minimum cut-off scores will be shortlisted. This means they will be invited for the next stage.
- Step 2: Personal Interview (PI): Shortlisted candidates will go through a Personal Interview. This interview is a very important part of the selection.
- Step 3: Preparing the Merit List: After the interviews, a final list of selected students will be made. This list is based on a scoring system that includes CAT scores, interview performance, past academic records, and work experience.
How the Final Merit List is Made
For the final selection, a total of 100 points are considered. These points are given based on different parts of a student's profile. Here is how the points are divided:
| Parameters | Points |
| CAT Score | 50 |
| Personal Appearance | 25 |
| Academic Profile | 15 |
| Work Experience | 10 |
| Total | 100 |
Let us understand what these points mean for your academic profile and work experience:
Academic Profile Points:
Your performance in Class 10 and Class 12 exams is also important. If you scored more than **70% in Class 10**, you get **4 points**. If you scored more than **70% in Class 12**, you get **5 points**.
Work Experience Points:
Having work experience after your graduation can also add points. Students with **2 to 4 years of work experience** get the highest, which is **10 points**. If you have more than four years or less than two years of work experience, you will get **5 points**.
Students aiming for MBA admission in 2026 should keep these cut-offs and selection criteria in mind while preparing for the CAP rounds. Meeting these requirements is key to getting into one of these IIMs.
