IIM Bangalore will launch its new undergraduate school on August 31, 2026 . Tata Trusts is providing support for the initiative. The school is named the IIM Bangalore-Dorabji Tata School of Undergraduate Studies.
First Undergraduate Cohort Selected
Eighty students will form the first undergraduate batch. They were chosen from approximately 12,000 applications. The students will enroll in two four-year, full-time residential programs.
Academic Programs Offered
The two programs are:
- BSc (Hons) in Data Sciences with a minor in Economics
- BSc (Hons) in Economics with a minor in Data Sciences
Each program will have 40 seats. The campus is located in the Jigani-Anekal area of Bengaluru.
New School's Focus
This marks IIM Bangalore's entry into undergraduate education. The institute previously focused on postgraduate, doctoral, and executive programs. The new school will adopt an interdisciplinary academic model.
It will combine areas like artificial intelligence, data science, economics, and business. The school aims for research, innovation, and globally recognized learning standards.
