IIM Ahmedabad is getting ready to release the list of students called for Personal Interview (PI) rounds for its Post Graduate Programme (PGP) 2026-28 batch. This important shortlist is expected in the first week of January 2026. Students who appeared for the CAT 2025 exam, whose results came out on December 24, 2025, can soon check if they have been selected for the next stage of admissions.
For the upcoming admissions, IIM Ahmedabad has set a higher minimum cut-off for the PI shortlist. General category students now need a 95 percentile in CAT 2025. This is a significant change from last year, when the qualifying cut-off was 80 percentile. To be shortlisted, candidates must meet not only the overall percentile but also the minimum percentile in each section of the CAT exam (VARC, DILR, and QA).

How to Check Your PI Shortlist Status
Only candidates who chose IIM Ahmedabad in their CAT 2025 application form and meet these cut-off marks will be eligible for the Personal Interview (PI) round. The form to confirm your PI will be available on the institute's official website. Follow these simple steps to check your status and confirm your interview:
- Visit the official IIM Ahmedabad website.
- Go to the 'Announcement' section.
- Look for and click on 'Admission Status: PGP 2026-28 batch'.
- Enter your CAT registration number and your Email ID.
- Click on 'Go'.
- Your PI shortlist status will be shown on the screen.
- If you are shortlisted, fill in the required details in the form to confirm your participation in the PI round.
While IIM Ahmedabad prepares its shortlist, other top business schools have already started their admission processes. IIM Rohtak and other campuses that are part of the IIM CAP and IIM JAP (Common Admission Process and Joint Admission Process) have begun their shortlisting for PI rounds.
