Indira Gandhi National Open University (IGNOU) has extended the re-registration deadline for the July 2026 academic session. Students now have until July 15, 2026 , to register for the upcoming semester or academic year.
This extension allows students to avoid a gap in their studies. The new deadline applies to all undergraduate, postgraduate, advanced diploma, and certificate courses. This includes programs offered through both Open and Distance Learning (ODL) and Online modes.
Students should visit official portals like ignou.samarth.edu.in or onlinerr.ignou.ac.in to register. Early submission is advised to prevent website or payment issues.
Re-Registration Requirements
Re-registration is mandatory for all continuing IGNOU students. This process is required to enroll in the next year or semester of a student's current program. It applies to programs with multi-year or multi-semester durations.
Students must re-register regardless of their performance in previous Term-End Examinations (TEE). Failing a TEE does not exempt students from the re-registration requirement.
New students applying to IGNOU for the first time must use the fresh admission link. The re-registration portal is only for currently enrolled students continuing their studies.
