The Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI) has announced two significant changes for its May 2026 examinations. CA Final exams will now be held twice a year, and the Intermediate exam dates have been shifted.
CA Final Exams Moving to Twice-a-Year Format
Beginning with the May 2026 session, the CA Final examinations will be conducted two times annually. These exams will be held in May and November each year. Previously, the CA Final exams were held thrice a year, in January, May, and September.
CA Intermediate May 2026 Exam Dates Rescheduled
The Chartered Accountant Intermediate Examination for the May 2026 session has also been rescheduled. The exams will now start on May 5, 2026 . This is a change from the earlier scheduled start date of May 3, 2026. The examination timings will remain unchanged, running from 2 PM to 5 PM.

Other Examinations Unaffected
The schedule for the Foundation Examinations and PQC remains unchanged. There will be no alterations to the dates of these examinations.
