Himachal Pradesh will soon introduce a new education plan called "One School, One Syllabus" for all government schools. This plan aims to make learning easier for students and reduce academic stress, especially for Class 10 students. The Himachal Pradesh Board of School Education (HPBOSE) will start this new system from the upcoming school year. Himachal Pradesh wants to be the first state board in India to fully follow the National Education Policy (NEP) with this step.

Under the "One School, One Syllabus" plan, all government schools in Himachal Pradesh will teach the same lessons at the same time. This means if one school teaches a certain chapter in the first three months, all other government schools will also teach that same chapter during the same period. Currently, some schools might teach different chapters during the same time. This new system ensures that all students in Class 10 across government schools cover the same topics uniformly.

Mr. Rajesh Sharma , Chairman of HPBOSE, announced this change. He confirmed that the common syllabus for Class 10 will be used from the next academic session. The main goal is to create a fair and consistent learning environment. It will also help reduce the pressure students feel when their school's syllabus pace differs from others.

New Syllabus Structure for Class 10

The HPBOSE Class 10 syllabus will be divided into four main parts . Students will have exams at the end of each part. These exams are called quarterly exams . Each quarterly exam will have both question types: questions where students have to write detailed answers (subjective) and questions where they choose the correct option (objective).

The marks students get in these quarterly exams will be very important. These marks will be added to their final overall assessment. This means that every exam throughout the year will contribute to the student's final result for Class 10. This method encourages students to study consistently throughout the year, not just before the final exams.

The board will make sure that all students use the same textbooks . This removes any confusion about which books or chapters to study. It also helps teachers follow the same teaching plan across all schools.

Board Exam Dates Announced

The Himachal Pradesh Board has already announced the dates for the upcoming Class 10 and Class 12 board exams. Students should note these dates carefully for their preparation.

Class 12 Board ExamMarch 3, 2025April 1, 2025

These dates are as per the latest schedule shared by HPBOSE. Students appearing for these exams should plan their studies accordingly.

This new "One School, One Syllabus" scheme is a big step for education in Himachal Pradesh. It aims to make learning simpler and fairer for all government school students, preparing them better for their future.
