The Himachal Pradesh Board of School Education (HPBOSE) has announced changes for the 2026 Class 10 and 12 exams. The exams will take place from March 3 to March 28, 2026, for Class 10, and from March 3 to April 1, 2026, for Class 12. Practical exams are scheduled from February 20 to February 28, 2026. The board chairman, Rajesh Sharma, shared these updates, explaining that the goal is to make the exams fairer for all students.
Key Changes for 2026 Exams
A significant change is that question papers for sets A, B, and C will have the same questions. Previously, students sometimes found that one set had harder questions than another. To fix this, the board will now shuffle the order of questions in each set. This means all students will face the same set of questions, just in a different sequence.
Another important change is that 20 percent of the questions in the exams will now be Multiple Choice Questions (MCQs). This is to test students' understanding in a more direct way.
