Curriculum Overhaul Details
Textbooks will span Himachal Pradesh’s history from ancient times to the present. Students will learn about local dialects and traditional food. The curriculum also includes the state’s role in India’s freedom struggle. Lessons will highlight the bravery of soldiers in the Kargil War. Current challenges facing the state will also be addressed.

Implementation and Oversight
A committee will manage the curriculum changes. Education Minister Rohit Thakur leads this committee. Secretary of Education is also a member. Representatives from the Himachal Pradesh Board of School Education will participate. Officials from the State Council of Educational Research and Training (SCERT) are included. Assistant professors and subject experts are part of the panel. The committee will ensure timely implementation across all state schools.
