Himachal Pradesh government schools will adopt the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) curriculum starting next academic year. Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu announced the change, which aims to provide quality education to students across the state.
Curriculum Transition Details
A total of 151 government schools have received CBSE affiliation. Three government schools in the Doon Assembly Constituency are already following the CBSE pattern. This move will offer students, especially those from rural areas, access to CBSE education at lower costs than private institutions.
The government is addressing teacher requirements for the new curriculum. Existing teachers have been appointed. The recruitment process for additional teachers is ongoing. This initiative is part of a broader government commitment to balanced and inclusive education and health services.
Development in Doon Constituency
The announcement came during a meeting with delegates from the Doon Legislative Assembly Constituency. MLA Ram Kumar led the group, presenting developmental demands to the Chief Minister. The constituency has seen improvements in infrastructure and services.
New facilities established in the Doon area include an SDM office in Baddi and a 100-bedded hospital. A Public Works Department (PWD) Division has also been set up, enhancing administrative and healthcare capabilities.
MLA Ram Kumar thanked the Chief Minister for opening six to seven new government offices. He also requested financial aid for road connectivity improvements and stadium construction. The MLA extended an invitation for the Chief Minister to visit the constituency.
