Registration for the Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE) 2027 has opened. Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Madras is managing the application process. Candidates must link their DigiLocker account to apply.
The official application portal is gate2027.iitm.ac.in . Applicants will use their enrollment ID and password for login. Linking DigiLocker allows the system to automatically retrieve personal details. This includes profile pictures, ID card numbers, email, name, date of birth, mobile number, and address.

Visit the GOAPS portal at gate2027.iitm.ac.in . Ensure your DigiLocker account is linked. Log in using your enrollment ID and password. Click on the application form link. Submit all required documents. Your application will then be complete.
Required Documents
Applicants need specific documents for registration:
- A recent photograph meeting specifications. A live photo may be captured via webcam or smartphone.
- A clear image of your signature.
- A scanned copy of a valid photo identity. The original ID is needed at the exam center.
- SC/ST category certificate (PDF), if applicable.
- UDID or PwD certificate (PDF), if applicable.
- Dyslexic Certificate (PDF), if applicable.
- Relevant annexures (PDF), if applicable.
- Certificate for compensatory time or scribe, if applicable.

Registration began on August 14, 2026 . The deadline to apply is September 21, 2026 . A late fee applies for applications submitted between September 22 and September 30, 2026.
