GATE 2027 Registration Mandates DigiLocker

IIT Madras will require candidates to use DigiLocker for GATE 2027 registrations. This mandate starts August 14, 2026. Applicants must create or update their DigiLocker accounts. The institute will use DigiLocker to retrieve essential personal information for the application process. Registration will be completed via the GATE Online Application Processing System (GOAPS) portal.

Linking DigiLocker for GATE 2027

To link your DigiLocker account, visit the official GATE 2027 website: gate2027.iitm.ac.in. A DigiLocker integration window will appear. Click "Go To DigiLocker" and log in with your credentials. Grant permission for details to be shared. Your profile picture, ID number, email, name, date of birth, mobile number, and address will be automatically transferred.

If the DigiLocker window does not display automatically, scroll down the website. Locate and click the GOAPS portal link. This will allow you to link your DigiLocker account.

Required Documents and Information

Applicants must provide specific details during registration. This includes college name and address. Candidates must also select their GATE test paper(s). Six preferred test cities are required.

Supporting documents are also necessary. These include:

• A clear candidate photograph, meeting prescribed specifications. A live photo may be captured during registration using a webcam or smartphone.
• A scanned image of the candidate's signature.
• A scanned copy of a valid photo identity document. This ID must be presented at the exam center.
• For applicable categories: SC/ST certificate, UDID (preferred) or PwD certificate, Dyslexic Certificate, and relevant annexures. These must be in PDF format.
• Documentation for compensatory time and scribe, if applicable.

GATE 2027 Key Dates

GATE 2027 examinations are scheduled for February 6, 7, 13, 14, 20, and 21, 2026. Registrations commence on August 14, 2026.
