No Clash with ESE Prelims 2026
Students who take both GATE and the Engineering Services Examination (ESE) Prelims had concerns about exam dates clashing. IIT Guwahati has confirmed that GATE 2026 and ESE Prelims 2026 exam dates will not overlap. This allows students to appear for both exams without issues.
The ESE Prelims 2026 exam is set for February 8, 2026 . It covers core engineering subjects like Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, and Electronics and Communication Engineering. The GATE exam dates for these subjects do not clash with the ESE Prelims.
