GATE 2026 Admit Card Released: Download Now, Exam Dates, Rules

Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Guwahati has released the admit cards for the GATE 2026 exam. Students who applied for the Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE) 2026 can now download their hall tickets. The exam is for admission to M.Tech and other postgraduate engineering courses. The admit cards were made live on January 13 on the official GOAPS portal. The GATE 2026 exams will take place on February 7, 8, 14, and 15, 2026 . Candidates must download their admit card from gate2026.iitg.ac.in before their exam date.

How to Download GATE 2026 Admit Card

Follow these simple steps to get your GATE 2026 admit card:

  • Visit the official GATE 2026 website: gate2026.iitg.ac.in .
  • Look for and click on the 'GOAPS Portal' or 'Admit Card Download' link on the homepage.
  • A new page will open. Here, you need to enter your unique enrollment ID and your password .
  • After entering your details, click the 'Login' or 'Submit' button.
  • Your GATE 2026 admit card will appear on the screen.
  • Carefully check all the details on the admit card. Make sure your name, photo, and exam details are correct.
  • Download the admit card. It is advised to take a printout of the admit card. Keep several copies safely.

What Information is on Your Admit Card?

Your GATE 2026 admit card is very important. It will have key details about you and your exam. This includes your registration number , your full name , your roll number , your enrollment ID , a recent photograph , and your signature . It will also show your exam paper name , the exact date of your exam , the shift timing , and the full address of your exam centre .

GATE 2026 Exam Dates and Shift Timings

The Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE) 2026 will be held on four different dates in February. The exam will be conducted in two shifts each day.

Important Exam Day Rules for GATE 2026

Candidates must follow these rules on the day of the exam:

  • Bring a printed copy of your GATE 2026 admit card and one valid original photo ID proof (like Aadhaar card, PAN card, Voter ID, Passport, Driving License).
  • If the photo on your ID proof is not clear, carry a recent passport-size photograph along with your ID.
  • Reach the exam centre at least 90 minutes before your exam starts. This allows enough time for all security checks and identity verification.
  • You will be allowed to log in to your computer and read the exam instructions 20 minutes before the actual exam begins.
  • A virtual calculator will be available on your computer screen. You are not allowed to bring your own calculator.
  • A scribble pad will be given to you in the exam hall for rough work. Write your name and registration number on it.
  • You must bring your own pen.
  • Do not carry any electronic gadgets such as mobile phones, Bluetooth devices, smartwatches, or any other personal belongings inside the exam hall.
  • Candidates are not allowed to leave the exam hall before the exam time ends.
  • Candidates with disabilities (PwD) will get one hour of extra time to finish their paper. They can also bring their own assistive devices if needed.
  • If you have any health issues and need medicines, carry them with you. Requests for medicines during the exam will not be allowed.
