Delhi University (DU) has authorized 11 affiliated colleges to admit undergraduate students directly using Class 12 marks. This move aims to fill vacant seats in specific courses. The admissions bypass the Common University Entrance Test (CUET) UG scores. This exception applies to courses with low application numbers.
Colleges Permitted for Merit-Based Admissions
The DU Admission Branch announced this policy change. It targets undergraduate programs that remain unfilled after multiple CUET-CSAS admission rounds. Examples of these courses include BA (Hons) Hindi, Sanskrit, Persian, and Urdu. Some B.Sc. (Hons) Physics and Mathematics courses also fall under this. Certain combinations of BA Programme courses are also included.
Candidates who have already secured admission through the CUET-CSAS process are ineligible. They cannot apply for these merit-based admissions. The participating colleges will manage these admissions offline. This means applicants must visit the colleges in person.

Eligibility and Procedure
Eligibility for these admissions is specific. Candidates must have appeared for Class 12 board exams. The courses targeted are those with lower demand. This includes certain arts, science, and programme courses. A key condition is that students already admitted via CUET are not eligible. The admission process will be entirely offline at the respective colleges.
Students interested in these seats should directly contact the listed colleges. They need to inquire about the specific offline application procedures. This requires physical presence at the college premises. Documentation of Class 12 marks will be the primary basis for selection.
