Delhi Launches Mission Kayakalp for School Infrastructure

The Delhi government has launched Mission Kayakalp to upgrade infrastructure in its schools. Chief Minister Rekha Gupta announced the initiative aims to create better learning environments for students.

Infrastructure Overhaul

Mission Kayakalp focuses on essential repairs and modernization. This includes painting walls, waterproofing roofs, and improving drainage systems.

The initiative also addresses sanitation. Renovations will target student and teacher toilets. Installation of sanitary facilities and plumbing repairs are included.

Water and Science Facilities

Providing safe drinking water is a priority. The program includes installing RO plants and water coolers in schools.

Science laboratories will be updated. This modernization will enhance practical learning for students.

Inclusivity and Green Spaces

Special facilities are being developed for children with special needs. This includes sensory parks and accessible areas.

Campuses will see increased greenery. Rainwater harvesting systems and tree plantation drives are part of the plan.

Community Involvement

The project involves district administrations and the Education Department. Support also comes from CSR initiatives and social organizations.

Market associations and local communities are participating. Public involvement helps speed up school transformations.

Progress and Scope

Work is underway or completed in several districts. These include North, South, West, North-East, and Outer North districts.

Specific improvements in the North district include a renovated sensory park. RO plants, water coolers, and a physics lab have been upgraded in selected schools.
