All Delhi government schools will close for summer vacations starting May 11, 2026 . The holiday period will extend until June 30, 2026 . This schedule was announced by the Directorate of Education (DoE) via a circular.
Remedial Classes Scheduled
Remedial classes are mandatory for students in Classes 9, 10, and 12 . These classes will run for two weeks, from May 11 to May 23 . The DoE circular states that these classes depend on teacher availability and school premises.
The purpose of these classes is to reinforce concepts already taught. No remedial classes are planned for lower and primary classes. Class 11 sessions will begin in July after the CBSE Class 10 results are declared.
Remedial Class Schedule
Classes will be held in the morning to account for weather conditions. Teachers are expected from 7:20 AM to 11:00 AM . Students should attend from 7:30 AM to 10:30 AM .

For Classes 9 and 10, remedial classes will focus on Science and Mathematics . School heads may add other subjects based on student needs. For Class 12, subjects will be determined by schools according to academic requirements.
Schools must create and share a remedial timetable. Parental consent is required for student attendance. Student attendance must be marked online. Schools should prioritize students they have identified as needing support.
Wearing the school uniform is mandatory for all students attending remedial classes. Teachers are tasked with ensuring noticeable improvement in students. Schools must provide necessary facilities, including drinking water and library access.
If regular staff are unavailable, schools can hire special teachers. Teachers working during this period are eligible for Earned Leaves as per CCS rules.
Reopening Date
All Delhi government schools will reopen for students on July 1, 2026 .
