Delhi government schools are now accepting applications for non-plan admissions for students entering classes 6 through 9 for the 2026-2027 academic year. The application period began on April 1, 2026. This applies to students not currently enrolled or placed under the National Scholastic Olympiad (NSO) in government or government-aided schools.

The admission process will occur in three cycles. Parents must submit online applications within the specified deadlines.

Eligibility and Application Process
Parents must register their children online. The registration link is available on the Directorate of Education's website, edudel.nic.in, under 'Govt. School Admissions'.
For admissions to classes 6-8, students who have passed or been promoted to the preceding class can register online. Out-of-school children can register physically at a school near their residence.
Children aged 10-14 years who have not attended school can register at a nearby school. They will undergo a Foundational Literacy and Numeracy assessment to determine their admission class.
Only Delhi residents are eligible for Non-Plan Admissions.

Applicants must provide the following details:
- Personal details: Name, father's name, mother's name, residential address.
- Details of last school attended (if applicable).
- Child's Aadhaar Number/UID (desirable).
- Child's Bank Account Number, Bank Branch name, and IFSC (desirable).
- Child's Date of Birth.
- Parent's Mobile Number.
