The National Testing Agency (NTA) began the Common University Entrance Test Undergraduate (CUET UG) 2026 on May 11 and will continue through May 31. Over 1.5 million students registered for the exam. The NTA has issued specific guidelines for candidates to follow on exam day, covering required documents, a dress code, and prohibited items.
Required Documents
Candidates must bring the following items to the CUET UG 2026 exam center:
- A printed copy of the CUET UG 2026 admit card.
- The self-declaration form attached to the admit card.
- Two recent passport-size photographs, identical to those submitted with the application.
- An original, valid government-issued photo identification. The ID must match the one used during application.
- A PwD/PwBD certificate, if applicable.
- Diabetic eatables, if necessary.
Permitted Items
Only essential items are allowed inside the examination hall:
- A transparent water bottle.
- A transparent ballpoint pen.
- The admit card with the self-declaration form.
- Passport-size photographs.
- The original photo ID.
- Diabetic-related food items, such as sugar tablets or fruit.
- PwD/PwBD certificates, if applicable.
Candidates wearing religious attire or articles of faith may enter but must arrive early for additional security screening.
Prohibited Items
The following items are strictly banned at the CUET UG 2026 examination center:
- Mobile phones.
- Smartwatches.
- Bluetooth devices.
- Earphones or microphones.
- Calculators.
- Written notes or papers.
- Electronic gadgets.
- Wallets or handbags.
- Metallic items.
- Food items, except those for diabetic needs.
- Any material intended for unfair means.
Possession of prohibited items can lead to disqualification or disciplinary action from the NTA.
Dress Code
Candidates should wear simple and comfortable clothing. Avoid heavy jewelry, metallic accessories, caps, scarves, or elaborate outfits. Those in customary or religious attire must arrive early for thorough checking.
Exam Day Instructions
Candidates must reach their examination center at least two hours before the scheduled start time. They should verify all details on their admit card carefully. Following instructions from invigilators and center staff is mandatory. Latecomers may not be permitted to enter the exam hall.
The CUET UG 2026 is a Computer-Based Test (CBT) conducted across India and abroad.
