Why This Change Matters for Students
The NTA made this change to help students get an exam center that is more convenient for them. Giving more options provides "greater flexibility" to applicants. With four choices, students are more likely to find an exam center closer to their home or current city, which can reduce travel time and stress on exam day. You can select up to four cities within the state where you permanently live or currently reside, depending on the availability of test centers.

How to Select Exam City Choices or Apply
To choose your exam cities, or to apply for the first time, follow these simple steps:
- Go to the official CUET PG 2026 website: exams.nta.nic.in/CUET-PG/
- Look for the link "Registration for CUET (PG) 2026" under the "Activity" section.
- If you are a new applicant, click on "Register Now" and complete your initial registration.
- If you have already registered or submitted your application, click on the "Login" tab to access your form.
- Fill in all the required details in your application form.
- Find the section titled "Select Examination City" in the form.
- You can now choose up to four cities. List them in your preferred order. Make sure to pick cities within your state of permanent or present residence.
- Complete any other remaining sections of the application form.
- Pay the necessary application fee for CUET PG 2026 .
- Review all your entered details carefully before you click to submit your application.
About the CUET PG Exam Centers
The CUET PG 2026 exam will be held in many locations. There will be test centers in 292 cities across India. For students living abroad, the exam will also be conducted in 16 cities outside India. The exam covers 157 different subjects , allowing students to apply for various postgraduate courses.
No Other Changes Announced
The NTA has confirmed that this update about increasing exam city choices is the only change to the CUET PG 2026 application process or guidelines. All other rules for the exam remain the same.
